SMS 2025: Engineering the Future - One Project at a Time
2025 has seen us secure landmark projects, expand our team and support communities. We’ve also welcomed new clients, whilst retaining our existing ones.
Our Biggest Project Yet: Raising the Bar in the West Midlands
2025 has seen enormous strides on our largest project to date: a full Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) fit-out for a state-of-the-art production and testing facility right here in the West Midlands.
We also secured a prestigious multi-million-pound refurbishment at the University of Birmingham’s Barber Institute of Fine Arts. Art meets engineering!
Growing Teams, Growing Capabilities
Every department within SMS has expanded this year, strengthening both our mechanical and electrical expertise. The upcoming appointment of a new Office Manager in January, whose unofficial job title could be “Chief Organiser of Everything”, will ensure the whole operation runs smoother than ever.
Staff milestones have been celebrated throughout the year, reminding us that our success is built by people, not just projects.
Supporting Communities - Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are
This year, we continued our wide-ranging charitable commitments, including:
• Donating to Cancer Research UK instead of Christmas client gifts, providing a significant contribution.
• Sponsoring multiple age groups — from U12s to the first team — at Stafford Rugby.
• Sponsoring a remarkable young girl representing Great Britain at the Transplant Games.
• Donating to YESS, Young Emotional Support Services, a charity based in Uttoxeter supporting the mental health of local people.
Looking Ahead to 2026
